UFO fans get hot under the collar about smoking
01/10/1999 Source: Jessica Martin

Outraged UFO fans have been besieging the Winston Box cigarette company for their latest very clever advertising campaign.

We quote the byline verbatim: "if aliens are smart enough to travel through space, why do they keep abducting the dumbest people on earth?"

An example of this fine piece of advertising appeared in the October 99 issue of Wired.

Since then, the UFO community has been up in arms and planning their revenge.

Some abductees are saying on the Net that they will contact their more friendly alien handlers to ask for cancer free smoking products to be released to US scientists (presumably through the normal channels) in an attempt to destroy the smoking market.

We will strongly resist the urge to make some X-File Cancer Man jokes at this point.
