Apologies for this late review. Following the computer malfunction reported last month, a more serious malfunction occurred in myself and I was unable to work properly for several weeks until the spare parts arrived from Tau Ceti and you know what the delivery service is like from there!

First and foremost, the promised revamp of the TTA website hasn't appeared as yet. We've been waiting some time for the, not one but two, websites and by now the slow hand-claps will be becoming audible. There is also no mention of the new horror magazine! I think it was called 'Black Static' but it's been so long that I have forgotten. Whatever the reason for the delays, they should remember that people will forget about them and go elsewhere.

I didn't think Interzone 203's cover was all that impressive. A couple of aliens from a flying saucer device are frittering about with strange discs in a cave. Were they alien archaeologists or was one alien, as it would seem, about to take a leak in the cave and was telling his friend to hold on for a minute?

The best story in this issue was probably 'Among The Living' by Karen D. Fishler. An old soldier is given a new life but it comes at a price because he is expected to carry on doing what he has always done and that is to kill. Rejuvenation has a high price and it has to be paid not only by the main character but by his loved ones, too. This is an intriguing tale which should be read. I think it will go on to become a classic.

Paul di Filippo had a contribution in the magazine. 'The Furthest Schorr: 32 Fugues On The Paintings Of Todd Schorr' were references to works by the artist. I'm going to be boring and suggest that it would have been a good idea to give us images of the works as well as the writings about them. It would have made a bit more sense.

There was another helping of Elizabeth Bear's New Amsterdam witch detective. 'Wane' was much the same as the others in the series and unless you're into the sort of thing, you'll treat it with a certain amount of indifference. There was nothing actually wrong with this story, it's just a case of personal preference.

The other fiction was enjoyable and to a high standard. Hopefully if I become fully functional within this planetary environment again, my next review won't be so short.
