More Modesty and Willie with this second volume from Titan Books featuring the next three newspaper strip stories from 1964-65, with the team of O'Donnell/Holdaway showing what we're missing so much in the newspaper strips of today, a decent action strip.

Of particular interest with this volume is a connection to 'The Penguin Book Of Comics'. For those of you who've read or own it, there's a three panel strip used there to illustrated who Modesty Blaise is. The complete story, 'Uncle Happy' is here so you needn't wonder no more what happened next.

The second story here, 'The Mind Of Mrs Drake' deals more with psychics. Writer O'Donnell says that like his characters, he's open-minded and sceptic on the subject but brings it to good effect with psychosymmetry used here. The subject re-surfaced in the third novel 'I, Lucifer', so he must have thought it a good subject to mine.

The first story, 'Mister Sun' is basically the origin of how Modesty's servant, Weng, came into her employ that should keep you guessing to the end..

As I've covered everything in reverse order, don't forget that there is another instalment of the interview with Peter O'Donnell covering how he writes the characters as well as a piece on the books. You really can't afford to miss these tales at this price.
