All right, so why is an espionage TV series episode guide book being reviewed on this website? Maybe it's to do with the fact that so many of my reviewers, also SF fans, love the series and no doubt applies to a fair percentage of, at least, the British readers here.

You American readers are seeing it under a different title 'MI5' on your BBC channel.

[Spooks] Confidential: The Official Handbook by Jim SangsterConsidering that aspects of espionage appears like a different reality, it's hardly surprising that a large percentage of SF readers go for such material when it's done right.

Basically, this is an episode guide and other information to the BBC1 series, with photos in colour and black and white, actor profiles and credits - even for production - which wasn't shown on the box.

There's a lot of other snippet information. The only error I spotted is a comment made that Tim Piggot-Smith followed Martin Shaw in the series 'The Chief' when it was the other way around and that's no really part of this book anyway.
What is important to note is that the episode synopsises are complete and none of those missing endings we've been reading in other episode guides in recent months. I hope this is something that other publishers will take note of.

So far, this book hasn't reached the shelves of the High Street stores, despite being plugged at the end of the series. It's at a good price and deserves to be read if you like Spooks. It'll give you something to read while waiting for season 3 next year.
